One of our favourite walks is The Harrogate Ringway 

This popular 20 mile walk circles the spa town of Harrogate, taking in points of interest along the way. Route maps are available from Harrogate Tourist Information Centre. 
 
A trail encircling the spa town at a radius of 3-4 miles, mostly on attractive country paths. Can be divided into shorter stages or linked with Knaresborough Round to form a 36 mile route!

With superb transport links in Harrogate to the city centres of Leeds, York, Ripon and the town of Knaresborough you may wish to venture further afield on your own, to enjoy more of the surrounding areas of Harrogate. 
 
Perhaps you would like to have a Day at the Races! York racecourse, Ripon racecourse and Wetherby racecourse are all close-by.

Or you wish to enjoy some history at Knaresborough Castle, Ripley Castle, Bolton Abbey, the Gothic Ripon Cathedral, Newby Hall and Gardens, York Minster - another magnificent cathedral, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal or perhaps a trip to the Skipton market.  
 
Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden is the country's largest monastic ruins and voted the 2nd Most Favourite Historical Attraction in the UK according to a 2020 survey by Which?

You could even go as far as a drive out to visit the Yorkshire Dales and do some walking in nearby Nidderdale or perhaps you want to go further afield to the seaside at Whitby or Scarborough. Both would be options for a day trip as they are just a few hours drive from Harrogate.

With places so close to Harrogate for you to explore; Brimham Rocks, How Stean Gorge, Stump Cross Caverns, Plumpton Rocks and Harewood House, a tour would be a superb way to make the most out of your stay with us.
